Cat Fact #8

April 7th, 2015

Cats make over 100 different sounds where dogs only make about 10. Cats make lots of sounds to communicate to people and when they are younger to other cats. A wild cat uses sounds to fight for territory, or a lion will call for the pride. Cats can hiss or growl. Almost all big cats growl while house cats hiss.

Cat Fact #7

April 7th, 2015

Just like a human can be left handed or right handed so can cats. Cats are not right or left handed they are right or left pawed. If a cat is right-pawed or left-pawed depends on the gender of the cat. Female cats are typically right-pawed while most male cats are typically left-pawed. Which is interesting because while 90% of people are right-handed the remaining 10% is mostly male.
